2015-2016 Fundraising Total for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

We are so proud to announce that the Alpha Psi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta raised
for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital during the 2015-2016 school year.

Within the Panhellenic Council, the 17 chapters collectively raised $189,750.48. The Tri Delta chapter alone raised more than 50% of the total for all Panhellenic chapters within this school year.

It's easy! Go to www.stjude.org/donatetridelta and type in "University of Florida" for College/University!

In July of 2010, Tri Delta announced their challenge to raise $15 million in 5 years between all Tri Delta chapters across the United States. In just 3.5 years, we achieved this goal. In 2014, Tri Delta nationally committed to raising $60 million in 10 years! At the University of Florida, the Alpha Psi chapter is honored to assist in this fundraising effort by contributing to our overall goal. To date, Tri Delta nationally has raised more than $40 million for the children of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our success this year! We could not have raised this much money without the support of all those who participated in our fundraising efforts. Each girl has the opportunity to mail out "Sincerely Yours" letters asking friends and family for donations. Additionally, throughout the year we host events that pool together support from other sororities, fraternities, our own families, and the Gainesville community. Below we'll highlight some of the events that we hold annually:

TRIPLE PLAY

Each year, Tri Delta holds our major philanthropic event of the fall semester, where teams compete in a softball tournament in the hopes of attaining the coveted Trip Play trophy.
Anyone can purchase tickets to attend the event or t-shirts to support St. Jude!

SPAGHETTI DINNER
Each Spring semester, Tri Delta reaches out to the University of Florida and Gainesville communities to join us at our house for a Spaghetti Dinner benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

With a $7 ticket, you receive all-you-can-eat spaghetti and a ticket to the raffle. The raffle prizes were all donated to Tri Delta from local businesses. This year we added another fun aspect to the event. For a $5 donation, guests could Pie-A-Tri. Although this lead to some sticky situations, the ladies were very willing to get pied knowing the money spent to do so would benefit St. Jude.

MOTHER DAUGHTER WEEKEND
Annually we hold our Mother Daughter weekend during each Spring semester. After a fun weekend of activities, including Painting with A Twist, and dinner at the Swamp, Tri Delta hosts an annual brunch. Mothers have the opportunity to prepare baskets for the silent auction. Baskets are auctioned off, with all of the proceeds going directly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A WORD FROM KIM NOVAK:
"As Tri Delta's philanthropy chair at the University of Florida, I cannot express my true joy and gratitude for our chapter's fundraising efforts this past year. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is an inspiring cause that I am so proud we can be a part of. Cancer touches every person in some way. Along with Kristen Sleeth, the assistant philanthropy chair, we are proud to support a cause that can make a massive impact for these families suffering from unimaginable pain and suffering. We couldn't have done it without our family, friends, and local Gainesville community, so I'd like to sincerely thank everyone for their support. St. Jude is making a difference, saving one child's life at a time. Reaching $100,000 for St. Jude would be such a huge milestone for our chapter. Tri Delta is dedicated to making an impact for these children in this year to come! Thank you again for everyone who has supported our fundraising this past year!"
-Kim Novak, PC' 13, Internal Philanthropy Chair
